Actress Amy Schumer Announces Split from Spouse of Nearly a Decade

Entertainer Amy Schumer has disclosed that she and her spouse, culinary expert Chris Fischer are getting a divorce following a seven-year union.

The Trainwreck star stated in an online announcement on this week, alongside a photo of the two of them on the subway, that they had made the "difficult decision" to split and will keep prioritizing raising their son, who is six.

"It's friendly, with total love and respect! Family forever," she wrote.

Both in their mid-forties, exchanged vows in early 2018 and became parents in 2019.

Light-Hearted Comments on Split

She humorously noted in the online announcement that the split is not due to recent weight loss and not on account of Fischer being a "decorated cook who can still pull some hot tail".

He received the prestigious James Beard award in the U.S. Culinary category for his 2015 cookbook focusing on Martha's Vineyard cuisine.

The pair collaborated on the culinary television program Learning to Cook with Amy Schumer, which ran during lockdowns.

The duo also appeared during a film series Amy's Pregnancy Journey that followed Schumer, who has been vocal regarding having endometriosis, during her difficult pregnancy.
