David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

An official for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour involving young women.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
