Man Formally Accused with Trying to Kill in Gunfire Attack of NFL Athlete Kris Boyd

A man has been formally accused with trying to kill someone in connection with the gunfire incident that wounded New York Jets NFL player Kris Boyd.

The accused is a man from the Bronx, age 20. Law enforcement took him into custody on Monday, charged with multiple serious charges.

The serious shooting happened in the early hours of 16 November, near a well-known New York City restaurant. Law enforcement characterized the event as a altercation with a unknown individuals.

Boyd, age 29, was accompanied by two other Jets players and a third companion in a central part of New York City when the taunting escalated.

Police apprehended Green on 8 December in Buffalo, where he was allegedly staying at his girlfriend's apartment.

A official announcement confirmed that "a suspect" had been arrested.

When officers surrounded the building, the individual was seen "peeking out the window searching for an way out but retreated inside after spotting the team and a canine officer," the statement added.

The stand-off concluded soon after, when the man exited the apartment with his hands in the air.

The accused had "modified his physical appearance likely to not be recognized," authorities commented.

Before signing with the Jets earlier this year, Boyd was a member of the Houston Texans over several seasons in the league.
