Mikel Arteta Warns Injury Crisis Could Undermine The Gunners' Silverware Quest

Arsenal's manager has voiced fears that his team's pursuit for honors this campaign is being threatened by a concerning cycle of fitness setbacks and a grueling schedule.

There was, however, better news regarding Gabriel Jesus, with the South American forward added to their Champions League squad. He comes in for the hurt youngster Max Dowman, who picked up an ankle problem.

"Training, no because we lack time to train. But obviously the fact that you are missing players, you are placing demands on other players more, there's a knock-on effect to that and it's a truly vicious cycle."

Even after a major summer investment over £250 million, Arteta stated the club is unlikely planning to dip into the January transfer market.

"At the moment we're just concentrating on getting the players back and hopefully it will be a matter of a short time," he commented. "We know how important those coming weeks are going to be."
