Mohamed Salah Issues Statement to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the group of players following the controversy from his recent interview.

What Happened

He was omitted from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and claiming his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”

The manager has refused to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the player.

Team Unity

He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.

The midfielder also implied that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”

Team Form

Liverpool's form have been impressive in the matches since the situation. He feels the Salah's words were not intended to destabilise the squad.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a good place,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and starting to win games.”
