Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union dismissed the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, Farage’s remarks suggested the group would reform the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves as opposed to current practices where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for children.

At the US event, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I am serious. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to your online courses. I pledge this tonight and I will follow through.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for free to all who wish to learn.”
